Live Blog: King Street at Alexandria, Virginia
On the second half of our trip, we veered away from the DC touristy things and went to the historic old towns nearby. We did Georgetown yesterday. Today, it's Alexandria, Virginia.
We took the Metro this time and made our way to King Street Station. We had no plans in mind but go Dora-the-Explorer on Alexandria. Right at the station, there is a King Street Trolley/Bus waiting for you, for free! We chose to walk though (but took the trolley back to the station).
Luckily, we got ourselves a good weather this time.
I know I've been posting a lot of houses but truly, the houses and the way the establishments are built are what make the old towns charming.
There are a lot of restaurants along King Street. We chose not to consult Yelp for lunch this time and just be adventurous with our choices. Until finally, Vaso's.
I was very hungry due to the wait, that I didn't get to take a photo of my Lobster Ravioli. The appetizer got in though, it was good:
The end of the street lies the Torpedo Museum, which we skipped to chill by the Waterfront.
I don't know why we were always drawn to the water..
Since it's bright and sunny and hot today, all the walking made us crave for ice cream. Kilwins Ice Cream was situated right where we wanted them, still along King Street on our way back.
They have a variety of treats outside ice cream.
Ate too much it's nice to nap eh..?
Happy Birthday Cheekabels! Love You!
